Factcheck Kazakhstan

Factcheck.kz is the first fact-checking resource in Central Asia, created in 2017.

Factcheck.kz is a unique independent resource specializing in fact-checking, statements and promises of officials, debunking fakes and propaganda. Editorial Factcheck.kz is a fundamentally independent fact-checking resource, based on the principles of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN). For 6 years of work, the editorial board has developed its own methodology and standards and has become a leading and authoritative resource in the field of information verification in Central Asia.

Factcheck.kz works in Kazakh and Russian, checks news and statements of politicians, regularly conducts training for journalists, students, university teachers, activists, etc. – both within the framework of his Online Factcheck Academy project and at various events. 

Annually the Factcheck.kz editorial board publishes about 1200 unique fact-checking materials in Kazakh and Russian. The total reach (website and social media accounts) of the project audience is more than 1 million people.
