Information campaign to overcome the interethnic language of hostility in Kazakhstan
In 2022, the MediaNet International Journalism Center with the support of the Representative Office of the Foundation. Konrad Adenauer in Kazakhstan has developed QazNetEtiquette – an ethical code for overcoming interethnic language of hostility in Kazakhstan. The project was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In September 2023, as a continuation, an information campaign was launched to overcome the interethnic language of hostility in Kazakhstan.
The aim of the project is to counteract and prevent the language of hostility and interethnic conflicts by distributing information materials and raising awareness and culture of communication among citizens.
In 2017 and 2021 with the support of the Foundation. Konrad Adenauer MediaNet conducted a study of the language of hostility in the Kazakh segment of social networks. Research data demonstrate that the most conflict-sensitive topic for Kazakhstan is incitement to hatred on interethnic and linguistic grounds.
