MediaIQ

MediaIQ is a project aimed at promoting media literacy (MIL) and critical thinking skills to combat disinformation and fake news. The project will focus on countering disinformation about the war in Ukraine and Russian propaganda.

Within the framework of the project it is planned to create short training videos, lasting 60-90 seconds each, to educate the audience on various topics. The videos will be posted twice a month on Factcheck.kz platforms on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts in Kazakh and Russian, aiming to reach at least three million people. The project also includes an online toolkit with practical and user-friendly guides on fact-checking in two languages, including visual diagrams and graphs.

It is also planned to create unique fact-checking materials on significant topics, such as disinformation propaganda about the war in Ukraine and statements made by government officials.
