Media Literacy Training Held in Almaty for 25 Students of School-Gymnasium №73
Almaty, October 24, 2024 — A dynamic media literacy training took place at School-Gymnasium №73, aimed at equipping students with essential skills for safe digital behavior. Led by Alyona Koshkina, an expert and head of the media literacy program at MediaNet International Center for Journalism, the students explored the fundamentals of critical thinking and learned to navigate today’s vast information landscape.
The program featured interactive sessions focused on fact-checking, assessing source credibility, and identifying cyber threats. In the final project segment, participants worked in teams to develop media projects, applying and reinforcing the skills they had gained throughout the training.
The event concluded with a certificate ceremony, recognizing the students’ readiness to use information safely and responsibly.
The training was organized by MediaNet International Center for Journalism with support from The Nippon Foundation and the Almaty Department of Education’s City Scientific and Methodological Center for New Educational Technologies.
