About the Project
We are developing a pilot Fact-Checkers’ Testing System, similar to IELTS/TOEFL, aimed at evaluating and certifying fact-checking competencies. The test will be available in Kazakh and Russian and will be created in collaboration with experienced fact-checkers. The goal is to establish a standardized framework for assessing fact-checking skills in Kazakhstan and beyond.
Role Overview
We are seeking an expert to lead the development of the testing system, ensuring its validity, reliability, and alignment with international best practices. The selected specialist will work closely with fact-checkers to design, structure, and pretest the certification system.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the structure and methodology for the Fact-Checking Testing System, including skill assessment criteria.
- Design a test framework with appropriate levels.
- Create a variety of test formats (e.g., multiple-choice questions, case studies, practical exercises).
- Ensure the test aligns with international media literacy and fact-checking standards.
- Collaborate with fact-checkers to refine test content.
- Oversee pilot testing and evaluation, adjusting the system based on feedback.
- Develop guidelines for grading, certification criteria, and implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in test development, assessment methodologies, or educational standardization.
- Understanding of fact-checking principles, OSINT tools, and misinformation detection.
- Experience in creating tests.
- Knowledge of Kazakh, English, and/or Russian is required.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work remotely and meet deadlines.
